I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's bout.

Ex two-time world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is really proceeding.
